Solace

Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2, 2026

1. Who we are

Solace is provided by Matthew Bronson ("Solace," "we," "us," or "our") from the United States. By using Solace you are entering into this agreement with us. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Solace is, and what it is not

Solace is an AI conversation platform built to help people feel heard. It is meant for stress relief and casual conversation for people who may not feel comfortable talking to another person, and to help guide users toward real help when they want it.

Solace is NOT a therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, doctor, counselor, medical provider, crisis service, or emergency service. It does not provide medical, mental health, legal, or professional advice. Nothing Solace says should be treated as a diagnosis or treatment.

If you are in crisis, in danger, or thinking of harming yourself or someone else, stop using Solace and contact emergency services right away. In the United States call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or dial 911.

3. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Solace you agree to these terms. You confirm you are at least 18 years old, or that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Solace for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful.
  • Try to break, probe, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service.
  • Send malware, spam, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Use Solace to harass, threaten, or harm another person.
  • Rely on Solace as a substitute for licensed medical, mental health, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

5. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for everything that happens on your account. Please give us accurate information when you sign up.

6. AI outputs

Solace uses AI models to generate responses. AI can be wrong, biased, or inappropriate. You are responsible for how you use anything Solace says, and for verifying important information with a qualified professional before acting on it.

7. Payments and subscriptions

Paid plans are sold through our reseller. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms and our Refund Policy.

8. Intellectual property

Solace, including the software, design, and branding, belongs to us. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service. You keep ownership of the content you submit, and you give us a limited license to host and process it only to run the service.

9. Service availability

We do our best to keep Solace running well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

10. Disclaimers

SOLACE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR NEEDS, BE ACCURATE, OR BE FREE OF ERRORS.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SOLACE AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE. THIS INCLUDES ANY HARM, DECISION, OR OUTCOME RESULTING FROM CONVERSATIONS WITH SOLACE OR RELIANCE ON ANYTHING IT SAYS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE LAST TWELVE MONTHS OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. We do not exclude liability where the law forbids us from doing so.

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Solace from claims that arise out of your content, your misuse of the service, or your violation of these terms.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, fail to pay, create security or fraud risk, or repeatedly misuse the service. You can stop using Solace at any time.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless local consumer protection law gives you another right.

15. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you. Continued use of Solace after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
